RUFC - Head to Head v Notts County

A look at the history of this fixture at Millmoor over the years show that draws are the order of the day, as 9 of the 20 meetings have ended all square, including the last 3.

Last time out was a goalless draw on Boxing Day 2000.
Rotherham had gone top of Division 2 just 4 days previous after a 2-0 win at Port Vale, although we were replaced 24 hours later as Millwall regained top spot.
We were clear favourites to take over at the top again against a County side struggling in mid-table.
However 7,673 fans saw a Millmoor wash out as the game ended without a goal and we slipped to 3rd in the division.

Prior to this was a meeting in the basement League on a cold Tuesday night in October 1997.
Just 3,161 turned up to see eventual Champions Notts County
take a 40th minute lead through Sean Farrell.
However we were scrapping for every point as we languished in 18th position, and Andy Hayward popped up in the 90th minute to give Rotherham a share of the spoils.
After this game we won 8 of our next 13 games and just missed out on a play-off place following a 5-2 defeat at Notts County on the last day of the season.

The last Millers victory over Notts County came just 13 days before our glorious day at Wembley in April 1996.
This win ended a run of 8 games without a victory for a Rotherham side with Wembley at the back of their minds.
We had dropped to 20th position in this time and relegation became a strong possibility as we faced a County side in 4th place in Division 3.
The Millers had held on till half time but came out the stronger after the break and goals from Paul Hurst and Trevor Berry sent most of the 3,215 fans home happy.
This was followed by 3 wins and 2 draws in the next 5 games to stave off relegation.
