'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Head to Head v Barnet

Here is a record of our visits to Underhill.

It will be the Millers 6th visit to this ground, and despite a fantastic result in our first ever meeting there, we have come away with just 1 point from the last 4 journeys.

First time out was in our promotion season from Division 4 in 1991-92.
Barnet were enjoying their first ever season in the Football League, and were sitting proudly in the 2nd automatic promotion spot while Rotherham were in 6th position.
However the Millers raced into a 3-0 half time lead with an opener from Mark Todd and a brace from Don Page.
Page completed his hat-trick after the break and Shaun Goodwin also netted for Rotherham.
Consolation goals from Mark Carter and a 20th goal of the season from Gary Bull, cousin of Wolves and England star Steve Bull, didnt help for the Bees who lost 5-2.
This result lifted Rotherham into 5th place just 3 points away from 2nd placed Barnet and with a game in hand.

The only other point gained by Rotherham at Barnet came in League 3 in January 1998 following a dour goalless draw, as 5th placed Millers cancelled out 6th placed Barnet.

Last time out was in April 2000 as Promotion bound Rotherham stuttered in the final run in with a 1-0 defeat to the Bees with a 59th minute winner from Barnet's former Spurs apprentice Mark Arber.
This defeat knocked Rotherham off top spot as eventual champions Swansea City took over.

A repeat of the 5-2 win would be most welcome.

I didn't realise we had never played them in a cup! I'd settle for 1-0 with a goal in the 90th minute!
