'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins Post Macclesfield

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins
told Radio Sheffield that the team had chances to win last night against Macclesfield.

'It was a case of two points dropped rather than one gained,' he said, 'we had a great free kick from Stephen Brogan which we could have scored from a rebound of the post. And, we had the ball in their area a lot but didn't put it away.

'They had a couple of good efforts, one on target from a set piece that should never have been given.'

He told the Official Site 'In the second half we couldn't move on and that's something we have to build on. Our second half didn't match our first and we put ourselves under pressure because no one wants to be in charge out there and that's something that has to change.

'The referee was poor. He got things wrong like the free kick for their goal when Gritton's elbows were all over the place and Ian Sharps' legs are black and blue from challenges. Decisions are going against us as the moment but that's not all there is to blame, we have to blame ourselves as well.

'The good thing is we got an away point but we have to be better, it's not attractive to watch at the moment. We need to take the maximum from Mansfield on Saturday and cheer the supporters up - we can sense they are not happy.

'We have to find out what our best and most productive partnership is upfront. We have to be better.'

Again, we missed chances. We really do have to start taking them.
