'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins post Morecambe

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, cheekily said that today's three-one win at home to Morecambe was all down to him!

He agreed with the MillersWorld interviewer when he said that putting on Ryan Cresswell, on loan from Sheffield United, changed the game and said, tongue in cheek, that it was all his doing!

'It was the worst possible start to the second half,' Robins said, 'they hadn't caused us many problems coming into half time and they found a way behind Hursty and we were looking to get the ball away and they scored from the resulting corner. We need to focus on corners at both ends of the pitch.

'And when they scored we had no real answers - we had the two young kids up front, Yates and Newsham and they needed help. We know what the two lads can do when they get help up there. I watched the clock and put Cresswell on up front, well it was either him go up or Sharpsy and I didn't want to disturb the back four - it's fantastic to put a player on and see him change the game.

'It's all down to work rate, effort and the willingness of the players. We need players to run behind opponents and once we got the first goal we looked positive. Jamie Yates in particular frightened them to death with his pace in the second half. Mark Hudson came on and did well too.

'It's another home win and we are up to ninth. It will give the lads a lot of confidence.'
