'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins on Youth

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, was the Youth Coach at Millmoor before taking over the reins at the club and he must be pleased to see that some of that team are now breaking through into the first team.

'It's nice to see the young lads getting a chance,' he told The Star, 'but they have a lot of hard work in front of them. Bringing through young players demands patience from everyone - it doesn't just happen over night.'

He also stressed that, 'the lads will have to keep their feet on the ground, no heads in the clouds and they have to keep doing the right things.'

Young forward, Marc Newsham has had four starts recently, after making a few appearances as sub, and Robins said, 'Marc has come in and done well and while I feel there's more to come, young players like him need time to fulfill their potential.'

Robins also had good things to say about Jamie Yates after his two goals on Saturday but said he had to keep his feet on the floor, 'but when young players, like him, are coming through and scoring goals, it bodes well for the future.'

The Reserves are at home tomorrow afternoon against Sheffield Wednesday - kick-off is 2pm
