RUFC - Hudson 'My Worst Injury'

Rotherham United midfielder, Mark Hudson told The Advertiser that it's 'great to be back' after a serious medial ligament injury put him out of the game until the end of last month.

Twenty-seven year old Hudson joined the Millers in the summer on a free from Huddersfield Town and got the injury in a friendly game against neighbours Sheffield United meaning he had to wait until last weekend to make his first team debut, although he had come on as a substitute the week before at Millmoor.

'I've been lucky with injuries throughout my career and this was the worst one I've ever had,' he said. 'To get it a week before the new season was a big blow and the rest of the lads were gutted for me.

'I kept amongst them but it was hard going to the training ground at Hooton Lodge and not being able to join in.'

The two games he has played in resulted in two wins for the Millers and he joked that he thinks the improvement in the team is down to him! 'I've been winding the lads up and telling them that the 'saviour is back'', he said. 'Seriously, the 4-3-3 formation the gaffer tried at Dagenham worked well. I thought Pablo Mills was outstanding and with me and Danny Harrison pushing on I think we could see a lot more goals with this set-up.

'To be honest I need another couple of games under my belt to get back to my full fitness but I must say it's great to be back playing and to be back amongst the lads with all the banter.'
