'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - 'Best Game So Far'

Rotherham United's win over Bury last night, had the fans buzzing. The young Millers side looked like they'd been playing together for seasons, and not just months. Certainly for the first forty-three minutes there was only one team in it - the jigsaw, we heard so much about pre-season, has come together. The passing was as near perfect as I've seen for a few seasons, the command at the back was tremendous leaving 'keeper, Andy Warrington a virtual spectator - the passion has never been in doubt. And, as manager, Mark Robins told RotherFM, 'it's the best game so far.'

He went on to say, 'We dominated that game for long spells and we had plenty of chances to put it to bed earlier than we did.'

The only sour note of the evening was a dubious penalty awarded by Mr Melin to the visitors just before half-time. Yes, you could say that us Millers fans are biased, but we couldn't see what it was given for. Even this morning we are unsure if it was for a 'push' or a 'shirt tug' - no yellow card was given. I asked a Bury fan after the game last night, who was sat at the end the penalty was given, and he just shrugged.
Mark Robins said, 'it was a poor decision and some of the refs decisions leave me bewildered.' - Me too, Mark.

And I think the manager will agree that last night the fans were the twelfth man - the singing and clapping hardly stopped and it was great to hear.
