'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - 'Want my first senior goal'

Rotherham United striker, Ryan Taylor says that he really wants to get of the mark for the first team.

Speaking to The Advertiser he said, 'It would be so good for my confidence and that's what I need at the moment.'

Taylor, nineteen, admits he had a poor game last Saturday at home to Grimsby but he made up for it in the game against Bury on Tuesday night but, although going close on a number of occasions, he still couldn't find that elusive first goal. After suffering from glandular fever midway through last season, manager, Mark Robins sent him out on loan to non-league outfit, Burton Albion where he scored one goal in his four outings with them.

'I enjoyed my time at Burton,' Taylor said, 'and I was quite happy with what I did there. It's a good set up and Nigel Clough is strict but a good coach.'

Back to this Sunday and the game at Blue Square Premier side, Forest Green Rovers Taylor is hoping to start and play in the middle of attack between Marc Newsham and Chris O'Grady.

'I like playing up the middle,' he said, 'me and Marc have played together in the Youth and Reserve teams and we know where each other are going to be and what we are going to do which is a great combination.'

I really think when Ryan Taylor gets his first senior goal it will open a flood gate and he will start scoring for fun - fingers crossed it could start this weekend.
