'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Hursty on The Millers

Rotherham United`s almost longest serving player,Paul Hurst, spoke to MillersWorld today after training and the talk was about football and not the record he is so hoping to beat tomorrow.

'It was great to keep a clean sheet on Saturday, we have been pretty solid in defence this season but have conceded a few from set pieces. It was a difficult game in respect of the surroundings, although we`d been warned about them by the manager, but until you get there nothing quite prepares you.

'We`ve been on an unbeaten run, confidence is high and everyone is chipping in at the moment and whoever plays does a good job. The defence has been solid and Cough has been a skipper who leads by example; Sharps alongside him has had a good season so far; Dale Tonge came in this summer and has been excellent at the back and Stephen Brogan has been excellent too and has proved that he can also play further forward these last couple of games.

'I`ve been told that Shrewsbury are a big side and not pretty to watch and it will be a tough game tomorrow, though there are no easy games. They had a good start to the season and won again last weekend.

'I think a realistic target for us this season is the play-off places and we`re up there at the moment. Providing we keep going and don`t get too many injuries we should be OK at the end of the season.`
