'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - 'keep setting standards'

Rotherham United rose into the play-off places this weekend in League Two after beating Shrewsbury two-nil. I suppose it's really too early to be talking about automatic promotion but manager, Mark Robins is setting his squad the challenge of staying up there.

Speaking to The Star Robins said, 'This win takes us to third and it's a case of 'can we stay there'. The players have the belief. If we continue to show the form we've been showing I believe we won't be far away.

'We keep setting standards and then taking them higher and I am very pleased, but, there is a long long way to go.'

Robins also said the performance on Saturday was a professional job and a perfect response to the dismal display last Tuesday. 'With the pride they have they were not going to under-perform on Saturday,' he said.

Robins also had praise for the fans saying, 'the noise the supporters were making was like it was a few years ago when I was playing.'

He had a word for record breaker Paul Hurst saying that he wasn't happy about being left out of the team but, 'he was philosophical and, as usual, was absolutely brilliant about it. It is nice he's done it and it was a lovely moment when he went on with the crowd all rising to him.'

Is it me or do the lines appear much earlier on the league tables than what they used to do?

Yes Caz, they seem to be there from day one now, rather than the last month of the season.

it gives teams false dawns and horizons being up so early in the season
