'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Holmes 'glad to be back '

Rotherham United striker, Derek Holmes told MillersWorld that he was 'just glad to be back playing' after his first start for six weeks on Saturday.

Holmes said, 'It was a fantastic game on Saturday and a good one for me to come back to play in. And, it was good to get back on track after the Tuesday night defeat.

'Chesterfield's the next game and it will be tough. They're doing well and it's another game for us to look forward to.

'We've got a good squad here and we take one game at a time. This is a difficult league and anyone can beat anyone in it. But, at the moment we are doing well and we're up there but we know if we start to lose a couple we could be back down.

'My injury is fine, a bit sore, but it's mostly down to bruising. It was a long six weeks and it was just good to be back playing.'

Derek scored the second goal in the two-nil against Shrewsbury on Saturday and he said, 'I'd like to get into double figures but as long as the team are winning that's the main thing.'
