RUFC - Manager of Month a Curse?
Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, won the League Two Manager of the Month award yesterday and most Millers fans are genuinely happy for him - but there are the doom and gloom merchants that insist the award is a curse!
Our stats man Zipadeedoodah spent yesterday evening going through his books and stats to prove this wrong and here is what he found:
I decided to do a bit of research into past winners of the award for Rotherham United.
Since January 1970 we have won the accolade 14 times prior to Robbo's award and despite only winning 4 of the games from the first League match of the next month, we have only lost 5 of these 14, including 0 defeats in the last 4 occurences.
Despite being relegated once after last season's award, promotion has been achieved the same season as 6 of these awards plus one Wembley win.
So i would hardly say they are a jinx for us....would you ???
and manager Robins, speaking to The Advertiser refused to be negative, 'there are plenty of winners who have gone onto win their next games. The award does not make any difference.'

It was really bugging me that so many people have blinkered vision when it comes to this award.
