RUFC - Annerson returns to Blades

Rotherham United have lost the services of goalkeeper, Jamie Annerson as his three month loan has come to an end and he has returned to Sheffield United.

This could leave the Millers with a bit of a problem if anything should happen to Andy Warrington who is the only 'keeper currently at the club with any first team experience. With the transfer window now closed until the 1st January, it means the Millers can't even fetch anyone in on loan which leaves youngsters, Andy Liversidge and Mark Oxley as the only cover.

Millers manager, Mark Robins, said, although Annerson only played in one first team game for Rotherham - in the penalty shootout defeat in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - he thinks the player has a future in a first team somewhere.

'He's been different class while he's been here,' Robins told The Star, 'and he is going to be a good goalkeeper. But, he needs to be playing games and I wish we could have given him more than he got but Andy Warrington was in the side and playing well. But, Jamie always gave his best, he knuckled down, trained hard and was a credit to himself. He's pushed Andy and kept him on his toes.'

All at Rotherham Vital want to wish you Good Luck for the future, Jamie

Good luck to the lad, but a pity he didn't leave us with many good memories.

To be fair, Zip, he didn't get much of a chance did he? And he did save one of the penalties!
