'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins Post MK Dons

Rotherham United lost at home today against top of the league MK Dons and Mark Robins says the whole of the staff are very disappointed.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield he said, 'I thought we were in control of the game until they scored. With all the work we've put in and the chances we had to win the game it's like a knife going through your heart.

'And, they scored from our free kick - they've broken forward on the break and scuffed one under Andy Warrington. But, it just goes to show you the run they are on and that they can come and grind out results. I think they would have been happy with a point but in the end they got all three. Goals change games and we've not managed to stick one in the back of the net today - if we had I think it would have changed the game totally. We've created half chances and a couple of clear cut chances but we have to be livlier. That's easy to say at the end of a run of five games in quick succession and it's hard work, but it's the same for both sides. It was always going to be like a game of chess today and unfortunately we've come up short. You saw the strength and depth they had and it makes a big difference. They have the budget to bring in this sort of player and maybe they had a few extra pairs of fresh legs out there. But I thought we did well and controlled the game. There was some decent performances in our ranks today but we just lack that little bit of concentration towards the end. But, we were trying to win the game.

'We've got to bounce back now and pick ourselves up and get a result next week against Lincoln. There are no easy games and we have to maintain the form that we've shown for the majority of the season.

'We're confident we can compete and without a doubt we are better than a lot of the sides in this division and we are in the position we are in on merit. Results have gone for us which is the only positive I can take out of today's game.'
