'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Holmes on his hat-trick

Rotherham United's hat-trick hero, Derek Holmes spoke to Radio Sheffield after today's three-one win over Lincoln.

'It's always nice to score goals,' he said,' and it's only the second hat-trick of my career. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and there were three fantastic passes for my goals.

'We started at 4-3-3 today and I think that suits us with Pablo (Mils) just sitting back a bit. Mark Robins works us hard and he takes the strikers away and works with them which I think has helped us to gel. To be honest, I'm just happy to be playing and it was good to bounce back after the defeat last weekend.

'Their goal was a bit of a calamity between Graham Coughlan and Andy Warrington but that happens in football and they have been great for us this season.

'We knew it would be a difficult game today and that we had to bounce back and I think we did that in style. We just have to keep going now.'

Just out of curiosity, what do you think they do with the balls they get when they get a hat-trick?
