RUFC - 'Need to Plan for the Future'

RUFC - 'Need to Plan for the Future'

United Rotherham Day

Rotherham United Chairman, Denis Coleman has told The Advertiser that the Millers have to plan for the future.

'Under the terms of lease we have we can either walk away from Millmoor in 2011 or we can be kicked out three years later. We need to get moving soon, if we don't there will be no future for the club.

'We have earmarked a site for the new ground but we can't go public about where it is for obvious reasons. Although that hasn't stopped the supporters and the media speculating about where the site is. All I can say is that the landowners have promised to come back to us by the end of the month and once they do there will be an urgent meeting with the council. If all goes well we then hope to be in a position to say where the site is and if the stadium plans are possible. Hopefully that will be next month. But there are many things to sort out so we don't want to rush it. The issue of a community stadium is massive with the Council keen to help

'Once we get the go ahead we will be moving quickly and are aiming to be moved in by 2011.'
