'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Brogan on Saturday's draw

Rotherham United's set-piece taker, Stephen Brogan scored a wonderful goal from a free kick on Saturday to put the Millers in front at home against Wycombe. Unfortunately, they couldn't hold on and the away team got an equaliser from a freak goal in the second half.

Speaking to RotherFM, the nineteen year old said, 'We were disappointed after the game to only get a point. We'd been playing well in the first half and to lose to a fluke goal was disappointing. But, they came out for the second half and did well and they are a good passing team. We came off at the end gutted.

'I'm having a great first season and I'm enjoying playing for my own town. It's a nice feeling knowing that you've got friends and family watching you. I'm pleased with what I'm doing and I've been working on free kicks in training and it's a good feeling when it comes off.

'We've got a difficult period of fixtures with MK Dons, Hereford, Chester and Peterborough - they will all be tough games. And, at least we didn't lose on Saturday and if we win next week at Chester then it makes it a good point.

'I'm pleased with what I, and the team, are doing at the moment and hope we can go on and get promotion.'

It's good to see a 'home grown lad' doing well for the team - Brogan is one of many this season
