'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Pabs 'I'm still a defender!'

Rotherham United's Pablo Mills came to Millmoor in the summer of 2006 from Derby as a centre-half, but, this season manager, Mark Robins, put him in the midfield and he hasn't looked back since!

Having a problem with his fitness after the summer break, Robins sent Pablo out on loan to Crawley Town where their fans took to him straight away and were a little disappointed when he came back to Millmoor. He played fourteen games for the Blue Square Premier side scoring one goal before Robins brought him back, put him straight in the side against Dagenham and Redbridge and that's where he's stopped. Since coming back from Crawley, Pablo's game has been practically faultless and he told The Advertiser that it's the most enjoyable period of his career.

'Every season up to now in my career I've had a relegation fight on my hands so it's nice to be at the other end of the table where I'm experiencing different pressures and fighting for promotion for a change.'

Speaking about his role change he said, 'I'm enjoying it at the moment but I'll still say I'm a defender. I'm comfortable in any position I play and the thing about playing centre midfield is that I see plenty of the ball. As a kid I started out as a striker and gradually moved back to defence. It looks like I'm going the other way now!

'Going to Crawley is probably the best thing that happened to me - it made me realise a lot of things, one being not to waste my ability. It improved my mindset and made me determined to come back here and play.

'I know some people were diappointed with me before I went out on loan. I just hope I am repaying them and that in my new position I hope the fans can see I can use my feet as well as my head.'
