'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Dale Tonge on his return

Rotherham United's Dale Tonge started his first full game since the loss to Forest Green, in the FA Cup, on Saturday and helped the Millers to a one-nil victory over Chester.

Manager Mark Robins told the press after the game that Tonge had been 'chomping at the bit' to get back in the side.

Speaking to MillersWorld, twenty-two year old Tonge said, 'I've been out for a while and it was obviously nice to get back in the team and nice to get a win.

'I am comfortable playing at both midfield and right back but the gaffer sees me as a right back so that is what I focus on.

'We know we've got four or five tough games coming up but after those games if we are roundabout where we are now then we can tell where we are going to be at the end of the season. We are a match for anyone at Millmoor'

Due to Hooton Lodge being flooded last week the Millers had to train at Doncaster but Tonge said, 'We went with a first class attitude and it didn't affect us at all.'

He was asked if he thought he might keep his place in the line-up for tomorrows game at Peterborough. Shrugging his shoulders he said, 'The team had been doing really well without me and it was tough to get back into the side but hopefully I did enough to keep my place.'
