'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'below par'

Rotherham United went to London Road last night and failed to do justice to themselves against Peterborough.

Manager, Mark Robins, was as disappointed in the way his team performed last night as the five hundred and thirty-six travelling supporters, and speaking to the Official Site said, 'At times we didn't know whether to stick or twist, our decision making was very poor and we got what we deserved. And even when we got ourselves back into it we threw it away. It was like that all game and that's very uncharacteristic. But it was down to individual decision making by the players and one or two were probably playing within themselves and I have to temper that and take it into consideration with the overall assessment of the game.

'It's a tough place to come to but we are more than capable of coming here and getting a positive result. What's disappointing is that a good result would have put us ten points in front of them and now they have a lifeline and a game in hand.

'They have some excellent players up front and I thought Westwood was the best player on the pitch but we sat back and let them come at us.

'The games gone now and it's time to reflect on it and put things right. Everytime we've lost a game we've won the next one and I expect us to put in a performance against Hereford on Saturday. And on the plus side our work rate was OK and it is only our second away defeat of the season. But it is the manner of the defeat that I'm disappointed in.'

Very disappointed, never in the game first half and we didn't make the possesion count in the second and didn't make the most of the chances we did create. We need to toughen up in certain areas as one or two of the players were knocked off the ball too easy. Only our 2nd away defeat of the season so you can't complain much, but we need to re-dress this for the game with Hereford on Saturday. We've got 18 Cup finals coming up and the ball is still in our court.

You couldn't even say it was just one player that was having an off day
