We can go to the tip if you are in a normal car as often as you want (providing you can find it open) but I know people with vans have to have passes or can't go very often or something.

I believe, though not sure, when we have to pay our £40 for the green bin collection they will come every week all months of the year - though I'm not sure. The blurb didn't make it very clear to be honest. They usually stop the collection in October and don't start again until March. We were still cutting the grass in October for the last couple of years.

Of course we've had to put the bin at the end of the drive for years now - I do believe there will come a day when they put the dustbin lorry at the end of the road and we all have to go and empty our own!

The more rates you pay the less pay they rate is a common saying here.

Too much political nonsense gets in the way of some councils doing there job properly.
Back to sunny weather here now so hopefully I will be able to shake off the remains of this annoying bug.

Went to Firbeck village hall yesterday evening to listen to a folk duo 'Megson' from Cambridgeshire, though they are originally from Teeside and most of their songs had connections to that area. They were very good but I doubt there was anyone in the audience - apart from Megson and the couple that organised the evening - under the age of 60!

Yes, you find this at folk clubs these days! Although my daughter does attend and perform at the folk week in Whitby!

I don't get to many now - the other half performs at a couple every month but I got fed up with hearing the same songs from the same people all the time!

Never really been into Folk stuff although I’ve liked a few songs.
I like C and W and also classical.
Last concert I was at was to see Cliff Richard and that also was like an old Timers reunion lol
Was never really a fan of his but liked the Shadows.
Hank Marvin lives up in Perth and has for a few years now and he sometimes gets his guitar out at shows.
Likeable chap.

I bet that's good Oz - he must be getting on a bit now. My sister loves Cliff and goes whenever he's round here.

Just finished watching the cricket - another England victory

And looked out of the window and it's snowing

Been over to see my son and family. Awful journey this morning - snow, very heavy. sleet causing blinding spray, slush!

Worried about the journey home but amuch better journey although there were quite a few foggy areas.

I do not miss the snow and sleet Sixpence especially when it’s all churned up and decides to freeze over and you are trying to walk to work in the dark and miserable morning.
Much prefer sunshine and light.

Sunshine and light is what we've got this morning but only 8C. I like the crisp bright days.

No chance of getting bored with our weather!
Not one for the heat though - I dont cope very well at all if it gets above the mid twenties.

I don't mind the heat if I'm not doing anything - I can't do with it being muggy. I think it's why I don't like sitting round swimming pools, much rather sit on a beach where I can watch the waves and get a breeze.

The difference in temp between around the garden and down at the beach is amazing. So much more cooler with the scent of the ocean and the nice breeze not too mention all those beautiful girls in their tiny bikinis. Disgusting.

Never noticed them Cazlol

Just went in to the bush with the dog for a walk. Lovely and cool and good for the legs plus he gets to do what he wants and gets plenty of exercise especially if he disturbs a ‘Roo.

I imagine the 'roo is quicker than him though?

Woke up this morning and the pillow looked like a scene from chainsaw massacre! Been having some tablets to try and dry this annoying head cold up and I don't think they suit me as my nose seems to have bled all night. On the upside I slept for the first time in over a week!

Off to hairdressers in a few minutes

Not feeling the best to be honest but I've got nothing planned for the next couple of days. Got back from hairdressers at dinner time and have done not a lot since - watched a film I recorded a few months back and have another six waiting!

Good tip for both of you poor ladies.
Before going to bed have two fingers of whisky mixed with two fingers of Stones Green Ginger, (the one with alcohol) and hey presto, you will leap out of bed in the morning.
Enjoy!
