Chesterfield vs. Rotherham

Saltergate

Millers v Spireites Preview

Rotherham United travel the short distance to Chesterfield as third take on sixth tomorrow for this early kick-off in League Two.

Ronnie Moore will be hoping the game goes ahead after having their last two at Don Valley postponed because of a frozen pitch.

The Spireites lost to Lincoln on Boxing Day and John Sheridan was less than pleased with his defenders that day

Please note that this game is a 1.00pm kick-off

Vital Quotes:

John Sheridan - It will be a tough game but we will want to bounce back in front of what will possibly be a full house. Ronnie Moore knows this league inside out and they will be strong. But, I don't want to worry about Rotherham, I hope they will be worrying about us.
Ronnie Moore - This is a massive game and we'll take one hell of a following. They're a good solid side and a counter-attacking side. We hadn't beaten the Spireites for something like twenty years then Robbo (Mark Robins) managed to go there and do it so hopefully that will be the turning point for me and I can go there and get a win. I don't know how many times I've heard 'you'll never beat the Spireites' sung at me. So it will be nice for me to go and get a win and there is nothing better than winning a derby game.

Chesterfield Team News:

John Sheridan has publicly said that any player who is fit and available will be in contention for the game and he is expected to make changes after the Lincoln defeat. Australian, Aarran Downes could be in contention for a recall after coming back from injury as could Dan Gray, Derek Niven, Drew Talbot and 'keeper, Tommy Lee.

Rotherham Team News:

A surprise inclusion in the squad could be Dale Tonge who has been out with a foot injury. Andy Liddle and Paul Warne are long term injuries

Player to watch: Kevin Ellison

will be wanting to catch top scorer Adam Le Fondre up

Ref Watch:

Scott Mathieson from Cheshire

Next Fixtures:
