Northampton Town vs. Rotherham United

Sixfields Stadium

Millers v Cobblers Preview

Rotherham United travel to the Sixfields Stadium today to take on Northampton Town knowing that they need to win this game to stand a chance of getting in the play-offs while the Cobblers know a win would move them away from the relegation spots.

Both teams go into this Friday night game having drawn two and lost one of their last three games. Town were actually two up against high flying Wycombe recently only to let the lead go and come away with just a point, while the Millers are struggling for goals, having only scored one in the last three games.

Vital Quotes:

Gary Johnson has declared Friday night's game the 'Claret and White Night' and says - There was a fantastic atmosphere when we played Torquay on a Friday night and it would be great if we can replicate that against Rotherham and get that win we want. We're certainly not in a position to rest on our laurels or believe we're better than we are. The pressure's on, and that's why we need everybody bouncing around the ground.
Andy Holt - Hopefully the fans will get behind us on Friday night and we get the vital win that moves us away from the danger area.

Northampton Town Team News:

Steve Collis will keep his place in the Cobblers goal with Chris Dunn recovering from a face injury. Guillem Bauza has declared himself fit but Andy Holt is a major doubt while Kevin Thornton is out with a knee injury and John Johnson is out with a thigh problem

Player to watch: Shaun Harrad

Joined the Cobblers in January from Burton scoring five goals since then and forming a good partnership with Bauza. (He scored a hat-trick for Burton against the Millers in September, but the less said about that the better!)

Rotherham United Team News:

Andy Scott is hopeful that both Andy Warrington and Ian Thomas-Moore will be fit for the trip to Sixfields. If Warrington isn't fit then Jamie Annerson will continue in goal. Adam Le Fondre could be recalled from the bench and the only certain absentee is Johnny Mullins who is going to be out for some months

Player to watch: Tom Pope

Was recently recalled from Port Vale who he joined on loan at the end of January and has done well since his return and is due a goal or three.

Your Comments

We drew 2-2 at Wycombe, not a 4-2 loss! Anyway, MASSIVE games for both teams tonight, us Town supporters are very confident about this one especially. Good luck for the rest of the season after tonight!!
