Rotherham United vs. Gillingham

Don Valley Stadium

27 August 2011

3,00pm

Millers v Gills Preview

Rotherham United welcome Gillingham to Don Valley this afternoon, in which, Millers Manager, Andy Scott, says will be their toughest test so far.
Both teams are on ten points in League Two, having both won three and drawn one game.
Gillingham make the trip on the back of a three-nil win at Plymouth while the Millers got out of jail last Saturday at Don Valley, coming from behind to take a point off Barnet.

Vital Quotes:

Andy Scott - Gillingham have a lot of experience and are a big, powerful side. They have spent 400,000 on players who know what`s required to get out of this league and, as expected, are going for it. Andy (Hessenthaler) knows how to get the best of his players and I`m expecting a tough game.

Andy Hessenthaler - Rotherham will be tough. Andy Scott's assembled a really good squad up there. The atmosphere at their ground isn't as good as it could be because of the running track around the pitch, but that might actually help us, we've got to try and use that in our favour and I expect us to play with no fear. The first twenty minutes will be important

Rotherham United Team News:

Andy Scott doesn`t seem afraid of making changes with the Millers having had three different centre-back pairings in the four league games played. Jason Taylor and Ryan Cresswell should be available after missing out last weekend and, with Adam Le Fondre reportedly having a medical at Reading, it will probably mean a start for Chris Holroyd up front, who scored for the reserves on Monday.

Player to watch: Troy Brown

Defender who scored a good goal last weekend but was deeply disappointed about the two the Millers let in and so will want to remedy that

Gillingham Team News:

Curtis Weston should keep his place with Chris Whelpdale out with a calf injury. Stefan Payne and Jack Evans are sidelined with illness. Luke Rooney could stake a claim for a start after coming off the bench last week and doing well. Although both Simon King and Garry Richards have requested loan moves, they could well be on the bench this afternoon.

Player to watch: Danny Kedwell

A born and bred Gills, he joined his home club this season from AFC Wimbledon. A powerful striker who will want to add to his two goals this afternoon

Ref Watch:

James Adcock from Nottingham

Next Fixtures:

The Millers travel to County Road next Saturday for their live television game with Swindon Town. Kick-off is 12.15pm
