Northampton Town vs. Rotherham United

Sixfields

29 October 2011

3.00pm

Millers v Cobblers Preview

Rotherham United travel to Northampton today a side who are five points and six places behind the Millers.

The Cobblers last win was at Barnet at the beginning of the month and their last win at Sixfields was at the end of September and they have suffered four defeats on the bounce. The Millers last win away from Don Valley was in August at Crewe but they came back from being three-nil down on Tuesday night at Morecambe to get a valuable point.

Vital Quotes:

Andy Scott - I'm looking for a ninety minute performance. We've got to start on the front foot and make sure we get the three points. They've had some poor results recently and we've got to get at them and make sure we play to our potential and get the first goal. Gary (Johnson) is a very good manager and they've got some good individual players but it just doesn't seem to have clicked for them yet but we are expecting a tough game. We need a win because one win would get us rolling again and get us back in contention.

Gary Johnson - The next win will gain us a lot of confidence and that's what we need to get very quickly. We have had a poor run after having a decent run previous to that so we know we have got it in us. Rotherham are in a pretty similar situation - they started well but I don't think they've won for a little while

Northampton Town Team News:

Experienced midfielder, Derek Niven has joined on loan from Chesterfield this week and is expected to be in the starting eleven and Adebayo Akinfenwa has been declared fit and will start.

Player to watch: Adebayo Akinfenwa

Top scorer so far this season

Rotherham United Team News:

Rotherham United will be without on-loan defender Guy Branston, who is serving the last of a three match ban. Andy Scott will check on Andy Warrington and Lewis Grabban who took knocks on Tuesday night but it is hoped they will be fit to play. If Grabban isn't fit then Chris Holroyd, who ran his socks off when he came on for forty-five minutes at Morecambe, would partner Alex Revell up front. Although Brett Williams is back with the Millers, from his parent club Reading, as he has only had a couple of training sessions it is doubtful that he will play

Player to watch: Dale Tonge

Since coming back in to the side has proved how capable he is at right-back

Match Prediction:

Rob Lewis from Shropshire
