Rotherham United vs. Morecambe

Don Valley Stadium

21 April 2012

Millers v Shrimps Preview

Rotherham United entertain Morecambe tomorrow for Steve Evans first game in charge at Don Valley, with the Millers still having a slight chance of making the play-offs.

Morecambe come to Don Valley in thirteenth place and eight points behind the Millers, having lost their last game away from the Globe Arena, to Burton Albion. The Millers come into this game on the back of a three-one loss at Shrewsbury but have won their previous three games at Don Valley.

Vital Quotes:

Steve Evans - I think, if Jim Bentley hadn't had a two and a half month spell with injuries and suspensions to key players, Morecambe would have been pushing for promotion. There's a good squad of players there and they have a tremendous work ethic and have a never-say-die attitude. Jim's got them back on track now. He's a big competitor as he was when he played and they are respected. They will be well organised, efficient, they'll get it down and play and they'll clear the lines.

Jim Bentley - Rotherham are a good side and it`s another game for us to look forward to. It`s going to be a difficult test for us

Rotherham United Team News:

Michael Raynes is definitely out for the Millers and there will be late fitness tests for Jimmy Mullen and Lewis Grabban, who are both suffering with a virus. Back in goal will be Andy Warrington.

Player to watch: Ryan Cresswell

After getting his place back in the side Ryan has scored in the last two games and will want to add to his tally

Morecambe Team News:

he Shrimps are down to the bare bones with both former Millers, Kevin Ellison and Nick Fenton, just two of Jim Bentley's players out injured. Midfielder Stewart Drummond is also out after having his appendix removed last week as well as Andy Fleming and Laurence Wilson who are ruled out for the rest of the season.

Player to watch: Danny Carlton

Striker Danny is in his second spell with the Shrimps and has scored ten goals for them this season

Ref Watch:

David Webb from County Durham

Next Fixtures:

The Millers last away game of the season, on 28 April, is at the Recreation Ground against Aldershot. Kick-off is 3.00pm
