Rotherham United vs. Northampton Town

Don Valley Stadium (for the very last time)

5 May 2012

3.00pm

Millers v Cobblers Preview

Rotherham United go into their last game at Don Valley Stadium with every intention of getting three points. But out to stop them doing that will be a Northampton Town who have been transformed since Aidy Boothroyd took over at the end of November.

The Millers go into the final game of the season in tenth place, five points and a handful of goals off the last play-off place while the Cobblers, who had a terrible run of form in October and November and looked doomed, are in nineteenth place on forty-seven points.

Northampton last lost away from Sixfields on a Tuesday night at Crawley a in April while the Millers haven't lost at Don Valley since mid-March.

Vital Quotes:

Steve Evans - The new manager has changed a lot at Northampton and, although I don't know him, I have a lot of respect for him. Aidy will have his team well organised and they will be big and strong and physical and he's confidently kept them in League Two and I expect them to be up there challenging next season. He'll want to finish with a win and we'll want to finish with a win but I'm sure, at the end of the day, Aidy will want to share a glass of wine.

Aidy Boothroyd - Rotherham are where they are on merit and they are a club with a new manager who are looking to build. I'm sure it will be a tough game but we want to win it. We want to finish on a high.

Rotherham United Team News:

Steve Evans will tinker with the side for their last game at Don Valley by making sure youngsters Alec Denton and Mitch Rose play some part. Andy Warrington, who has signed a new contract with the club this week, will start in goal although loanee Rhys Taylor is still with the club. Ryan Cresswell has served a one match suspension so could start and Michael Raynes is back after injury. Tom Newey is definitely out after being red carded last weekend so Dale Tonge and Mark Bradley will probably play in the back positions

Player to watch: Lewis Grabban

Will want to get a couple of goals to try and be League Two's top scorer for the campaign

Northampton Town Team News:

Aidy Boothroyd will continue to monitor defender Anthony Charles, goalkeeper Neal Kitson and John Johnson but there shouldn't be any major changes to the Cobblers team for tomorrow. Michael Jacobs is in line to make his 100th appearance for the team.

Player to watch: Adebayo Akinfenwa

Well travelled striker who is top scorer for the Cobblers this season

Ref Watch:

CARL BOYESON from East Yorkshire

Next Fixtures:

That's yer lot for this season. The next time we see Rotherham United at home will be at the New York Stadium back in Rotherham - and not before time!
