Millers v Valiants Preview
8 September 2012
It's fifth place taking on seventh place this afternoon when the Millers travel to Vale Park to take on Port Vale.
Rotherham go into this game on the back of a one-nil defeat to York City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and have only picked up one point on their travels this season.
Vale are in a bit of a turmoil at the moment with the club being forced into administration in March but beat Tranmere at Vale Park on Tuesday night in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and, like the Millers, have won two of their four league games.
Micky Adams - Everybody looks at Rotherham as the favourites to win the league and quite rightly so because they`ve had a big budget, moved into a new stadium, increased capacity and they have bought some good players, so it will be a good test for us. They are a big strong side and are very dangerous from set-pieces
Steve Evans - Off the pitch it's carnage at Port Vale and I feel sorry for Micky Adams. It's a real difficult place to go and the fans are proud of the club, and so they should be, and will be right behind them. Tom Pope is always a handful and always capable of getting a goal and Ashley Vincent is a top player and a big asset to them. We will be taking a big travelling support and hopefully we will send them home happy
Port Vale Team News:
Micky Adams is set to name an unchanged side with Tom Pope leading the attack against his former club although, with him saying there were some 'sloppy bookings' mid-week he could think about playing a couple of new faces with Gareth Owen and Rob Taylor both available after injury.
Player to watch: Tom Pope
Sods law that the former Millers striker will come back to haunt us
Rotherham United Team News:
The Millers will be without Kari Arnason, who is on International duty, and Mark Bradley who is out for a few weeks after picking up an Achilles injury on Tuesday. Nicky Hunt could be back after injury as could Dale Tonge after both played in a mid-week reserve fixture. Also in contention is Craig Morgan who has recently joined the Millers. It is expected that Scott Shearer will return in goal.

Will want to add to his two goals last weekend
