Millers v Stanley Preview

Rotherham United go into this game looking for their first win at the New York Stadium since mid-November. This will be their fourth game of December at their new home with both league games being two-one losses against the top two teams in the league and the game against League One's Notts County in the FA Cup being a one-all draw.

Stanley make their second trip to Yorkshire in three days being unlucky to lose to Bradford on Boxing Day. Their last away win at Fleetwood in November was also the last win they had.

The Millers dropped to sixth place after the defeat on Boxing Day but if results go their way they could climb back to fourth today. Accrington are in eighteenth place in League Two, ten points behind Rotherham.

Steve Evans - I think Accrington will come and play a counter attacking game and all we ask of our players is that they work as hard as they can. If we get a result then I believe that will put us into the top four going into the new year.

Leam Richardson - We've played some good football in the last couple of games and that's why losing at Bradford was so disappointing because we didn't only compete we deserved to get something from the game. The Millers have no fresh injury worries ahead of this game with Craig Morgan and Lionel Ainsworth being the two still in the treatment room. Ian Sharps and Liam Ridehalgh could come back in to the starting eleven and another goal for Kieran Agard on Boxing Day might just earn him a start too.

Accrington come into this game with a bit of a goalkeeping crisis. Paul Rachubka will start a three match ban and regular 'keeper Ian Dunbavin is out injured but they have signed Cameron Belford on loan from Bury in time for today's game. Also out is Dean Winnard who picked up two yellows at Valley Parade with Thomas Eckersley expected to replace him. Player/coach James Beattie could start on the bench.
