Rotherham United vs. Barnet

New York Stadium

12 January 2013

3.00pm

Millers v Bees Preview

Rotherham United welcome Barnet to their first game at the New York Stadium today with both teams having different results last weekend.

The Millers lost to Aldershot in the third round of the FA Cup while Barnet did very well and beat Bradford City who were flying high.

Rotherham are in last place of the automatic promotion places going into this game with the Bees seventeen places below in twentieth place with their being seventeen points between the two teams.

The Bees have recently lost joint-manager Mark Robson who left just after Christmas which left former Netherlands International Edgar Davids in sole charge.

Vital Quotes:

Steve Evans - This is a big game for us and one we will be looking to win. Hopefully there will be a another big crowd there to cheer us on. In my eyes we are playing a promotion team today.

Edgar Davids - we have to recognise that Rotherham are a very good side and this is a game they are expected to win so if we come away with a positive result it will be very good.

Rotherham United Team News:

Steve Evans will be without Kari Arnason who is out suspended which could see Ian Sharps come back into the team. Andy Warrington will keep his place in goal with Scott Shearer having had an operation on an elbow injury. Evans could give a start to Daniel Kearns who joined this week from Peterborough and it's probable that Adam Morgan, on loan from Liverpool, will make his home debut, whether it be a start or coming off the bench. Liam Ridehalgh is available after signing until the end of the season while Courtney Cameron has also signed for another month and could be in contention for a start. Evans has said that he will make changes from the starting eleven at Aldershot last weekend.

Player to watch: Daniel Nardiello

(If he plays) After some harsh words from his manager last week he will want to prove him wrong

Barnet Team News:

Edgar Davids has recovered from a shoulder problem and could play some part in the game. New signing, Ibra Sekajja, on loan from Crystal Palace, should get a start but Jon Nurse is out suspended. Steve Kabba, Collins John and Ishmail Kamara are all out injured.

Player to watch: John Oster

Much travelled Midfielder who joined the Bees in September last year and has helped out with a couple of goals.

Ref Watch:

Andy D'Urso from Essex

Next Fixtures:

The Millers travel to Oxford next Saturday 19th January where it will be a 3.00pm kick-off at the Kassam Stadium
