Bristol Rovers vs. Rotherham United

Memorial Stadium

19 February 2013

7.45pm

Millers v Pirates Preview

Rotherham United travel to the Memorial Stadium to take on a Bristol Rovers who are very much in form having lost just one game in the last seven.

The Millers will want to make amends for the three-one loss at home to the Pirates four weeks ago having won their last Tuesday night away game against Torquay.

After beating local rivals Chesterfield at the weekend the Millers moved into sixth place in League Two, twelve places and fourteen points above Rovers.

Vital Quotes:

John Ward - We played Rotherham recently and I'm pretty sure they will be smarting a bit from that defeat. They are a team in form and we are going to have to play really, really well to beat them.

Steve Evans - Statistically, since the start of 2013 Bristol Rovers are the best team in League Two which doesn't really surprise me. They have some top class players for our level and have a set system of play under John (Ward) which is proving effective. Our task is very tough but we all know that.

Bristol Rovers Team News:

John Ward will still be without Matt Harrold, Matt Gill, Scott Bevan and Adam Virgo who are all injured and Ryan Brunt will keep his place up front after scoring the only goal of the game on Saturday against Wycombe

Player to watch: Ryan Brunt

Joined Rovers from Stoke in January making his debut against the Millers. Will want to add to the two goals he's got for the Pirates so far.

Rotherham United Team News:

The Millers have a couple of knocks to contend with after Saturday's win against Chesterfield. Definitely out are Scott Shearer with a long-term injury and Michael O'Connor who is serving the last of a three match ban. Craig Morgan is coming back from fitness and having travelled could be in contention to play some part in the game.

Player to watch: Johnny Mullins

Will need to play a captains game tonight - not that he ever gives less than one hundred per cent

Match Facts & Stats

Ref Watch:

James Linington from Newport.

Next Fixtures:

The Millers are having a rare Saturday off this weekend as they should have played Bradford City but they are in some cup or other!!! (seriously, good luck to the Bantams). The next time the Millers play will be at the New York Stadium on Tuesday, 26th February when York City are the visitors. Kick-off will be 7.45pm
