Southend United vs. Rotherham United

Roots Hall

Millers v Shrimpers Preview

Rotherham United make the long journey to Roots Hall this weekend to take on a Southend side who are getting ready to play at Wembley next month.

Paul Sturrock's side are in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Crewe Alexandra and that could be the uppermost thoughts on their minds after they dropped a place to ninth after losing at Barnet on Tuesday night with Sturrock pointing a finger at some poor performances. The Millers fared a little better on Tuesday night and go into this game with just one loss last month and six points and four places above the Shrimpers.

The Millers have won their last two away games while Southend haven't won at home since the beginning of February.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Sturrock - Rotherham are a strong team and they have some good players. They are starting to make a run now and we will have to put our best foot forward on Saturday.

Steve Evans- Southend aren't on the best of form but they never lack commitment and never lack passion and they've got some top, top players. It's going to be tough but we'll go there and we'll be resolute and we'll see what we can get.

Southend United Team News:

Paul Sturrock will be able to call on Bilel Mohsni after serving a three match ban but Chris Barker, Gavin Tomlin and Marc Laird are still out injured.

Player to watch: Ryan Cresswell

Former Millers skipper, who if the form book is right, will probably score against us!

Rotherham United Team News:

Definitely out is Daniel Kearns with Daniel Nardiello only rated as fifty-fifty. Craig Morgan should make the bench again but Steve Evans will probably keep the back pairing of Johnny Mullins and Craig Davis.

Player to watch: Craig Davis

Has the 'thou shalt not pass' attitude which will probably be needed tomorrow

Ref Watch:

Christopher Sarginson from Staffordshire

Next Fixtures:

The Millers are on their travels again on Tuesday night when they visit the Kassam Stadium to take on Oxford United. Kick-off is 7.45pm
