Millers v Birmingham Preview

Rotherham United
Birmingham City

New York Stadium

14 April 2017

Rotherham United welcome Birmingham City for this Good Friday game at the New York Stadium.

The Blues come into this game in eighteen place and will be hoping to get three points to help them climb away from the danger zone at the bottom of the table. Rotherham United have nothing but pride to play for but will want to put on a good performance for their faithful fans.

Rotherham's last home win was in January their last two games ending in defeat - at home to Sheffield Wednesday and away at Wigan. Birmingham's last away win was at Wolves in February and, like the Millers, have lost their last two games - away at promotion hopefuls Brighton and at home to Derby.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Warne - Birmingham's away form is pretty good and although they aren't in great form their performances aren't dissimilar to ours. I'm well aware of their attributes and am aware of what they bring but I'm hopeful that we can get our lads up for a good home performance.

Gianfranco Zola - Rotherham having nothing to lose. Yes, Rotherham are relegated but they are fearless, they play with a lot of freedom and if we don't perform at our best it will be a difficult match.

Rotherham United Team News:

Paul Warne could be without Anthony Forde for this afternoon's game while Lewis Price has been struck down with tonsillitis with Richard O'Donnell waiting in the wings to regain the number one spot. Long term injured Lee Frecklington and Kirk Broadfoot won't make this game but Tom Adeyemi is back in the match day squad.

Player to watch: Will Vaulks

Is comfortable wherever he ends up playing and can also score a goal

Birmingham City Team News:

Birmingham will be without Clayton Donaldson who has a knee injury and defender Josh Dacres-Cogley has an ankle problem and will get a late fitness test.

Player to watch: Che Adams

Scored in his last two games and will want to make it three out of three this afternoon.
