Millers v Charlton Preview

Rotherham United
Charlton Athletic

New York Stadium

26 August 2017

Rotherham United welcome Charlton Athletic to the New York Stadium this afternoon with the Addicks sitting pretty in sixth place at this early part of the season.

The Millers come into this game in fifteenth place with their only win so far coming at home against Southend (but it was quite a win!)

Both Rotherham and Charlton lost their second round EFL Cup games this week - the Addicks losing four-one at Norwich and the Millers losing two-one away at Huddersfield.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Warne - Karl Robinson has put a really good squad together and I think they'll get automatic promotion.

Karl Robinson - They (Rotherham) are a good, well organised team. I won't be changing our shape but I am sure Rotherham will change to match us. They are going to be favourites going into the game because Richie (Barker) is someone who knows everything about me because we worked together for three years. So you`d say they have the upper-hand at home but we'll go there and play our football and be aggressive in what we do.

Rotherham United Team News:

Jonson Clarke-Harris has a shoulder problem and is a doubt for the game as is David Ball who is suffering with a hamstring problem while Dominic Ball has a hip injury. Striker Jerry Yates could be available after being out for a couple of weeks with a foot injury. Although Alex Bray is getting up to fitness its doubtful he'll play this afternoon.

Player to watch: Jamie Proctor

After some excellent performances since joining Rotherham Procts will be looking to add to those with his first goal in a Millers shirt

Charlton Athletic Team News:

Karl Robinson will have Andrew Crofts back after suspension but will be without Ben Reeves, Harry Lennon, Lewis Page and Mark Marshall who all have injuries.

Player to watch: Jake Forster-Caskey

Joined Charlton after an unsuccessful loan spell with the Millers last season. Will probably have a point to prove this afternoon
