Millers v Rovers Preview

Blackburn Rovers
Rotherham United

Ewood Park

26 September 2017

Rotherham United take on Blackburn Rovers this evening at Ewood Park.

The teams are just one place apart in League One with the Millers winning their last game at home, five-one against bottom places Oldham and Blackburn drawing one-all away at Shrewsbury.

Last time out at home Rovers lost to AFC Wimbledon while Rotherham's last away game was a one-nil loss at Bradford City.

Vital Quotes:

Tony Mowbray - It is another tough one against an athletic team who are the second highest scorers in the country. They are a threat and we have to be aware and try and see that threat off and then give them some questions going the other way.

Paul Warne - Like all the teams in League One, Blackburn have been excellent in some games but sub-standard in others. They will be under pressure at home to entertain their fans, like we are at home.

Blackburn Rovers Team News:

Definitely out tonight for the hosts is midfielder Ben Gladwin who has a thigh injury. Also on the injured list are Rekeem Harper, Craig Conway, Darragh Lenihan and Scott Wharton and although Ryan Nyambe has recovered from an ankle problem he might not make tonight's game.

Player to watch: Richie Smallwood

After turning down a contract extension with the Millers at the end of last season, Richie joined Blackburn in the summer and has helped out by scoring twice, once in the cup and once in the league

Rotherham United Team News:

Rotherham United might chose to rest top scorer Kieffer Moore for this trip to Blackburn this evening, if so then either Jonson Clarke-Harris or Jerry Yates will step up. Defenders Shaun Cummings and Josh Emmanuel should also be back to full fitness with Joe Mattock back in the frame after serving a one match suspension. Jon Taylor is a doubt and, although David Ball is 'getting there', this game may come a bit soon for him.

Player to watch: Darren Potter

Strong in midfield and could be in valuable at holding the ball up for the Millers forwards tonight
