Millers v Cobblers Preview

Rotherham United
Northampton Town

New York Stadium

30 September 2017

Rotherham United welcome Northampton Town to the New York Stadium this afternoon which is tenth place taking on twenty-first in League One.

The Cobblers come into this game without an away win so far this season with Rotherham having lost just once at home at the end of August to Charlton.

The Millers last home game saw them beat Oldham five-one with Northampton getting a point in a goalless draw away at MK Dons on Tuesday night.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Warne - Northampton have got some good signings this summer and have an amazing squad with experience. They are big and strong and look pretty hard to break down. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is a really good coach and I expect them to get better and better as the weeks go on. There defence is pretty resolute and it's a game in which we might have to be patient in.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - We know it's going to be a tough game. Rotherham are a direct team who have a lot of energy and pace down the sides.

Rotherham United Team News:

The Millers will be without defender Ben Purrington with Joe Mattock taking over at left-back. Shaun Cummings may be fit enough to come in at right-back. Jon Taylor will sit this one out with a knee injury with it being thought that Alex Bray could come in and take over but an illness has laid him low this week. This game has come to early for striker David Ball.

Player to watch: Marek Rodak

Settling into this number one slot and stopped the Millers losing to a cricket score on Tuesday night

Northampton Town Team News:

The treatment table at Northampton is busy with Chris Long, John-Joe O`Toole, Shaun McWilliams and Aaron Phillips all out injured with Matt Crooks also a major doubt. Dean Bowditch could be handed his first start of the season with Sam Foley hoping to start too.

Player to watch: Alex Revell

Loved by all Millers fans Revs returns to the New York Stadium this afternoon and will be hoping to add to his two goals this season
