Millers lose to Chairboys

More than three hundred Millers supporters went home from Adams Park today cold and frustrated after watching their team lose again, bringing their winless streak to five games.

David McCracken got on the end of a Russell Martin corner five minutes after half time to head past Andy Warrington for the only goal of a scrappy game. The game started brightly when Martin ran down the wing and pulled the ball back to Sergio Torres who cracked a half volley just over the bar. Minutes later Warrington was called into action when he tipped a Scott McGleish header just round the post. It was just before half-time when the visitors had their first real shot at goal as Mark Hudson found Danny Harrison in space but the twenty-five year old saw his goal bound volley hit Leon Johnson on the chest and go away to safety. The Millers came back into the game for the last minutes of the half and both Chris O'Grady and Harrison had shots at goal but they were easily collected by Frank Fielding.

The goal came on fiftieth minute giving Warrington no chance and after that the game was mostly played in the centre of the field. Mark Robins tried to change things and sent on Jamie Yates for Derek Holmes followed by Jamie Green, making his debut, for Adrian Pettigrew and ten minutes later Ian Ross replaced Pablo Mills. But, to be honest, neither team looked like scoring, although Matt Bloomfield had a shot that went for a corner and Gary Holt's shot went just wide of the post and in time added on, Ryan Taylor had a dipping shot that went just over the bar.

Wycombe's win puts them on level points with the Millers although they have played one more game. We really have to get some points next weekend or we could start to slip down the table and out of the play-off places.
