Stamford 1 - Rotherham Utd 3

Stamford

7th August 2012

Attendance:

Stamford V Millers

Stamford V Millers

Rotherham Utd took a strong team to face Steve Evans former club Stamford. Once again the manager showed, I think, his ability to look after those that looked after him and I hope the home fans weren`t disappointed with anything other than the result!

Agard opened the scoring for the Millers on 20 minutes. He was involved in the second goal as well as he was fouled in the area for a penalty. Up stepped Revell to put the spot kick away. Gibson made it 1-2 to the home side but Revell was on hand to tap home a rebound and restore a 2 goal cushion.

The pre season games have provided some testing opposition for the Millers and I believe they`ve acquitted themselves well. The one small cloud on the horizon is the inability to keep a clean sheet other than against Parkgate. Nit picking I`m afraid on my part. I just think, keep a clean sheet and you have a chance of pinching a goal and winning it. Overall, well done!
