Barnet 0 - Rotherham United 0

Underhill Stadium

22nd September 2012 3.00pm

Attendance: 1,821 (384 Millers)

Stalemate at Underhill

Rotherham United managed to hang on, despite going down to ten men in the last ten minutes of the game, to get a point against bottom placed Barnet at Underhill yesterday afternoon.

With the sun shining down it was the home side that started the better and on four minutes Jake Hyde rose above his marker in the penalty area but saw his header go just wide and a few minutes later John Oster received a good pass from Ricky Holmes and had a go from just outside the area with Sharps managing to head off the line. A strike from Hyde was easily collected by Scott Shearer in the Millers goal but did well a minute later to save a shot from Holmes. On thirty-five minutes a Michael O'Connor in-swinging corner was saved by Stack while the same sort of corner five minutes later was cleared by David Stephenson. In the final minute of the half Shearer did well to get down and smother a shot from Holmes.

The Millers started the second half the better and a Ben Pringle free-kick found Alex Revell on his own but the Bees' goalie Graham Stack managed to get a touch to the ball as he raced out and get it away to safety. Two minutes later Scott Shearer made a brilliant save from Barry Fuller who had a shot from outside the area as four Millers defenders ran around him. On seventy minutes Holmes saw another shot go wide and at the other end David Stephenson cleared a shot from Pringle and Fuller managed to clear a Mark Bradley cross. As the Millers were starting to get the upper hand in the game Revell blocked a shot from Stephens who rolled around on the floor until the Referee Dean Whitestone had shown the Millers striker a red card and then made a miraculous recovery and got up. In the final two minutes of the game Kieran Agard, on for Kayode Odejayi, brought a save from Stack while Clovis Kamdjo's close range header in the final minute of the game going over the bar.

Against the bottom club in League Two who had only got one point until yesterday is this a game where the Millers lost two points or is it one where a point was gained with going down to ten men?
