Torquay Utd v Rotherham Utd

Ninety two hardy souls travelled down to Torquay yesterday to watch their team face Torquay. They weren`t disappointed with their teams result, although, there were probably times when their hearts were in their mouths!

The first half ended goalless with the best of play probably going Torquay`s way. Andy Warrington was called in to action, as was Claude Davis who collected his third booking in only his second start.

The second half was no sooner under way than the Millers were in front! Kearns made a run down the left and played the ball inside to Frecklington who flicked the ball up to beat the defender and shoot. Somehow the ball seemed to kick left as the keeper went right and the Millers were one up! This seemed to be the spark needed and now Rotherham were the better side. Alex Revell chased on to a flick on, held off the defender and fired a left foot shot across goalkeeper Polk to make it 0-2. Frecklington made arun down the right and squared for Jordan Slew only from him to clip the ball wide. We`ve all done that I`m afraid! Torquay did come back and regrettably Mark Bradley gave away a penalty which Bodin put away to make it 1-2. That looked like game over but with just seconds left, straight from the kick off, Frecklington made a run down the right, pulled the ball square and this time Odejayi was there to side foot home.

Three valuable points and back in the play off zone. The fans who had travelled had got their reward. Perhaps the club will say thanks to those guys in some other small way. I`d guess that the players and management would have been humbled to see that many on a February evening!
