For the second Saturday in a row Rotherham United left it until almost the last kick of the game to secure points at the New York Stadium when Alex Revell scored his third goal in four days to break his former employer`s hearts.

The Millers came out the quicker and after Lee Frecklington won a free-kick Ben Pringle`s cross was aided by the swirling wind and nearly caught out Ben Alnwick in Orient`s goal as it just went wide of the target. It was almost identical at the other end after an Alnwick goal kick found Robbie Simpson who headed it into the path of Dean Cox who also saw his effort go wide. With the blustery conditions making flowing football almost impossible it was a good move that saw the Millers go in front on ten minutes when Pringle`s corner kick was only half cleared by the visitors defence back to the former Derby player he put the ball back into the crowded area and Wes Thomas got in front of his marker and headed the ball into the back of the net. For some reason the Millers goal seem to spur the O`s on and after a poor clearance by the home defence the ball found its way to Cox and his dipping shot could only be parried by home 'keeper Adam Collin into the path of Simpson but the forward couldn`t get his shot away and Collin saved easily. The Millers could have gone two up on eighteen minutes when another good cross from Pringle found Mark Bradley but his header hit the outside of the post on it`s way to safety. At the other end Mathieu Baudry couldn`t quite get his feet right and his shot went off target before dashing up the other end to block a shot from Kieran Agard after Alex Revell had put him through on goal. Thomas had another shot which was a bit wild and flew over the bar while with five minutes to go Simpson pushed James Tavernier off the ball but referee Kevin Wright said play on but either luckily of fairly Cox dragged his shot wide.

The O`s came out the stronger for the second half but it was the Millers who had the first chance but Kari Arnason couldn`t control the header and it went over the bar. With the visitors going down every time a Millers player breathed on him (particularly Romain Vincelot and Moses Odubajo who seemed to like the turf at the New York) but when Claude Davis knocked down Odubajo the ref was probably right to show a yellow although the antics from the visiting bench left a lot to be desired as they were trying to get the Millers big defender sent-off. Nothing came of the resulting free-kick but at the other end it was nearly a 'what happened next` moment for Question of Sport when an attempted clearance by Alnwick flew into the air and caught by the still swirling wind flew back towards the gaping goal and, luckily for the O`s 'keeper, just cleared his own crossbar. Just after the hour mark the Millers should have doubled their lead when Revell flicked on a long ball to Tom Hitchcock, on at half-time for Wes Thomas and with the QPR loanee one-on-one with Alnwick the 'keeper stood tall and blocked the shot with his legs sending the ball out for a corner. Minutes later an Agard got a ball through to Tavernier who in turn nearly got it to Hitchcock but Scott Cuthbert managed to clear. And it was Cuthbert who rose highest at the other end to a corner but his header flew over the bar. With the Millers defence at sixes and sevens a long pass from Nathan Clarke found Chris Dagnall whose deep cross found Odubajo at the far post and he thumped the ball into the top of the net for the equaliser. Minutes later Adam Collin had to be on his mettle to stop Dagnall getting through on goal and at the other end Pringle had a shot from distance that just went wide. As the fourth official held the board up for four minutes it spurred the Millers on and there was only one team getting balls into the box trying to win the game. Well with a minute of time added on left it paid off when Richie Smallwood got possession of the ball and found the feet of Alex Revell who took aim from outside the box and his curled shot flew into the back of the net sending the Millers players and fans wild.

Another game when I feel we should have had to game won at half-time and feared we might get nothing - but I thought without the delight which is Alex Revell who had nothing on his mind other than winning. Great goal again from the striker and well deserved.

Star Player

For me it can only be LEE FRECKLINGTON - he was here, there and everywhere today
