Doncaster Reserves 1 - Rotherham Reserves 1

Keepmoat Stadium

24 April 2007

Attendance:

Millers Draw at Keepmoat

A Marc Newsham goal in the first half wasn`t enough for Rotherham United Reserves to take all three points from the Keepmoat Stadium tonight.

Playing on the main Stadium pitch, the visitors were the first out of the blocks and had two shots in as many minutes, but veteran Richardson in the Rovers goal kept the home side in it. That was until the thirty-fifth minute, when Keane put a great ball through to Newsham who rounded Richardson and put the ball in the net. Minutes later, Montgomery, in the visitors goal, made a finger tip save from Pittman who shot from twenty-five yards out. Partridge and Newsham for the Millers went close before the break

Rovers started to attack straight from the start of the second half with Pittman having two shots at goal and although the Millers got back into the game, on the seventy-fifth minute Noble hit an angled shot to beat Montgomery on the near post. The Millers, who really needed all the points to help with their bid to be champions, put on the pressure for the last fifteen minutes and in the last minute Richardson saved at the feet of Newsham to keep the game at one all.
