Reserves Lose In Final

Rotherham United lost today in the final of the 2006/07 Pontins Holiday League Championship to a lively Nottingham Forest side.

Nathan Tyson, making his first start since April, when he went off in the one all draw with Rotherham, started well and within ten minutes passed across the box for Felix Bastians who hit his shot just over. The home side's Ryan Taylor suffered a head injury early on and had to go off in the twentieth minute. Tyson was linking well with Emile Sinclair and the pair were causing the Millers some problems although it was still scoreless at half time.

Unexpectedly, Tyson reappeared for the second half and soon headed the ball past Steven Cann in the Millers goal to put Forest one up. On the sixty-fourth minute, Tom Cahill was brought on for the home side for the first time since being injured in pre-season but couldn't get on the score sheet and a few minutes later Bastians, who had missed an earlier shot, made it two-nill to the visitors and the game was over as the young home side couldn't find anything else to give.
