Reserve Report

The reserves played their second Pontins Holiday League clash of the season yesterday and it saw them get a point against neighbours, Sheffield United.

The Millers were under the cosh a bit in the first half and should have gone behind early on when the visitors twice had shots that went over the bar and another shot from Travis Binnion was headed from under the crossbar by David Haggerty while Paul Hurst blocked on the line from Dean Oliver. The deadlock was broken just before half time when Oliver's cross found Nicky Law who tapped the ball into the net.

The Millers should have levelled the score at the start of the second half but Haggerty's header was mistimed. After that neither team seemed able to control the ball and it became a scrappy game. The equaliser came in the sixty-first minute when Jamie Green let fly from thirty-five yards out only to see his ball bounce off the post and fall to Sam Duncum who cooly slotted the ball into the empty net. The visitors should have won the game in the dying minutes from James Ashmore who's shot went just over and both Mamadou Seck and Liban Abdi should have scored.

Tom Cahill played sixty-five minutes of the game, which can only be good news for him after his injuries and for the Management and Millers fans too.
