Barnet 2 - Millers 0

Underhill

29 September 3pm

Attendance: 2,008

Millers Slip Up

Two goals in the second half was enough to see the Millers come away from the capital with no points.

The home side went ahead within a minute of the re-start when Neil Bishop set up Adam Birchill who put the ball past an advancing Andy Warrington at the near post. Barnet made sure of the points after Liam King leant all over Jason Puncheon, who picked himself up to convert the penalty.

The visitors were perhaps the better side in the first half as they were playing down the famous slope at Underhill and two long throws from Ryan Cresswell, on loan from Sheffield United, could have ended with goals. The first from Andy Todd who thought he`d opened the scoring but saw his shot saved off the line and the second was when Ian Sharps flicked onto Bruce Dyer whose shot brought a save from Lee Harrison in the Barnet goal . Stephen Brogan also saw a curling shot go just over the crossbar.

Both Ryan Cresswell of Rotherham and Barnet`s Sagi Burton could have been red carded in the first half for tackles but were lucky to escape with yellows.

So a first away defeat for the Millers and, by all accounts, a pretty poor game too. If only we`d taken our chances in the first half, it might all have been different.

Star Player

For the first time since I have been doing the report I can't get anyone who went to name a Millers Star Player. That, as they say, should tell you something in itself.
