RUFC - Head-to-Head v The Iron

Rotherham United travel to Glanford Park tomorrow, knowing that they are just two games away from a possible trip to Wembley.

The last time the teams met was in League One in the 2006/07 season. The game at Millmoor was won by the Millers. Billy Sharp put the visitors ahead in the sixth minute but just a minutes later, Eugen Bopp equalised with Pablo Mills scoring on the stroke of half-time to give the Millers all three points. In the return game at Scunthorpe, Jermaine Beckford got the only goal of the game to give the Iron a win.

In August 1995, these two teams were drawn against each other in the League Cup First Round, which was over two legs. The first game at Glanford Park was a bit of a walk-over for the home side with John Eyre getting a hat-trick and Andy McFarlane getting the fourth. Andy Hayward got a consolation goal for the Millers. The return game at Millmoor in front of just over two thousand fans was an exciting game that went into extra-time. Shaun Goater with two and Andy Hayward made the game four-four on aggregate with Mike Jeffrey and John McGlashen scoring in extra time to put the Millers through to the second round.
