'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Brentford

Karl Evans from Greater Manchester

This will be Karl's first visit to Don Valley and fingers crossed that the pitch is dry enough for a game of football!

Karl started refereeing at the age of fifteen in Salford in junior football and worked his way up to the National List of Referee's last season. In 2007 he was appointed as fifth official in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the Millenium Stadium.

Karl was the referee in our one-one draw at Millmoor, last season, against Notts County, where he booked Marcus Bean for the Millers and County's Paul Mayo and Matt Somner. The scorers that day were Peter Holmes for the Millers and Spencer Weir-Daley for the visitors.

So far this season, Karl has booked twenty-seven players and given out just one red card in the twelve games he has officiated in.

His Assistants on Saturday will be -

P Graham from Great Manchester
P Simpson from Co Durham

The Fourth Official is

M Naylor from South Yorkshire
