RUFC - Ref Watch v Chesterfield

NS MILLER from Co Durham

Nigel was appointed to the National List of Assistant Referees in 1996 and seven years later was promoted to the National List of Referees. He says that the highlights of his career so far are his three trips to the Millennium Stadium.

Nigel was the man in charge of our League Cup game at Hillsborough last season - you know, the one that we won on penalties! Etienne Esajas put the Owls one up but just a minute later Alex Rhodes had equalised. And that`s how the game ended after ninety minutes to extra time was played. Marc Joseph got a red card, Esajas got his second goal but, never looking down and out the Millers equalised two minutes later with a goal from Reuben Reid. The Millers proved too much for the Owls in the penalty shoot-out winning 5-3.

This season, Nigel has been in charge of six games, handing out twelve yellow cards and two red cards
