'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Morecambe

Darren Deadman from Cheshunt

Darren started reffing in the Ishmian League and Panel Leagues after getting injured while playing semi-professional football. He joined the National List of Assistant Referees in 2000 and five years later he was promoted to the Referee's list.

Darren was in charge of our game at Kenilworth Road last season that saw six goals. The Millers went in two-one up at half-time with goals from Reuben Reid and Drewe Broughton and Chris Martin got Luton's goal. Eight minutes into the second half, Danny Harrison restored our two goal lead only for Asa Hall to make it 3-2. With three minutes to go, Mark Hudson made sure of all three points going to the visitors. That night, Darren Deadman showed yellow cards to the Hatters' Chris Martin and to Drewe Broughton, Pablo Mills and Ian Sharps from the Millers.

So far this season, Darren has shown sixteen yellows and one red in the six games he has officiated in.

Running the line on Saturday will be . . .

C Kavanagh from Lancashire and
KDG Lawson from Lincolnshire

The Fourth Official is . . .

DK Benton from South Yorkshire
