'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Macclesfield

G Eltringham from Tyne and Wear

This is Geoff's first season as a League referee and his first visit to Don Valley.

I am struggling for information on Geoff though he was the Fourth Official in a Conference Play-Off Final at Wembley. I also found out that he is the first referee promoted to the Football League Referees' List from the Sunderland Referees' Association since George Tyson in the late 1970's. And, he lists one of the biggest decisions in his life was ditching his Sunderland Season Ticket so he could become a referee!

So far this season, Geoff has officiated in eleven games, giving out twenty-five yellow and two red cards.

The men with the flags on Saturday will be

MJ Denton from Lancashire and SAJ Duncan from Tyne and Wear

The Fourth Official will be

M Griffiths from South Yorkshire
